The song which was released days ago is a banger and instantly became the number one song in the country on the day of release.
That makes it five number #1 singles in one year. And that’s what everybody’s talking about right now. Actually, they’re not just talking anymore because it has turned into a fight now.
On Twitter, there has been some commotion because Chris Brown and Wizkid‘s “Call Me Every Day” which was released on the same day, has failed to top the Apple Music Nigeria charts. Now Wizkid FC is angry, and rival fans are taunting them with it.
It’s been three days now, and Asake’s number one spot seems to be secure, even though fans at first thought the Wizkid song would take it away from the top. But that has not been the case.
This raises a very important question. We all know Wizkid is still the biggest artist in Nigeria and artists like Asake are no comparison for the Afrobeats legend. But what happened here? Is Asake more popular than Wizkid in Nigeria right now? Or is it just the songs?
Perhaps, people prefer the street-certified “PBUY” to the laid-back “Call Me Every Day,” which is beginning to creep up on some foreign charts.
If we’re being honest, they’re both good songs in their own rights. And their styles are completely different, so they probably should not be compared with each other. Not musically anyway. But the fact that people may be feeling Asake more than Big Wiz is actually very baffling.
So let’s settle this once and for all. Which one did you feel the most?
Let’s hear from you.
